If you’re a teenager who studies the bible, spend some time thinking about the following good bible verses for teenagers. I’m also adding some supplementary reading for each one, so you can research and study it further using different sources. In any case, you don’t even have to be religious to find useful knowledge and lessons in these bible verses for teens. Granted, atheist or agnostic people probably aren’t the main audience who will be reading this, but you might be surprised – some atheists will go to great lengths to win an argument with a religious person, and some of them are among the most well-studied when it comes to the bible. My goal here isn’t to push faith or anyone, or to discourage anyone from pursuiting it, I’m just here to share some of the best bible verses for teens, in my humble opinion.

Inspiring Bible Verses for Teens

The following inspiring and encouraging bible verses are here to inspire you, and to encourage you.

1 Timothy 4:12

12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Some people will underestimate you because of your age, or because they’ve had negative experiences with other teenagers, or they simply are projection who they used to be at a younger age. Don’t let this slow you down, use it as an opportunity to surpass their expectations.

Deuteronomy 31:6

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

The Lord has got your back when you’re faced with difficult situations, and you’ll be faced with many difficult situations as a teenager so lean on the best bible verses for teens as inspiration!

Exodus 20:12

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Your parents aren’t perfect and flawless people, but you can learn from their best traits while also learning from, and avoiding adapting, their negative traits. Even if your parents are flawed people who don’t teach you much, you can still learn from them.

Ephesians 4:29

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Don’t waste your time being negative or trying to force your opinions or beliefs onto other people. Speak in a way that you’ll be heard by those who need to hear what you have to say. Speak in a way that uplifts people and benefits them.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“…Sometimes things don’t go like we plan. It’s okay to be briefly disappointed that our expectations haven’t worked out, but don’t dwell on it. Instead, dwell on this verse and know that He has other plans in store for us and those plans will be perfect for you.”

2 Corinthians 4:18

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

“Facing the harsh reality that these things do happen in real life comes too early in a person’s life. It’s so hard to understand. I told her that this world is temporary for all of us, even those we love, even ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:18 reminds us of this.”

1 John 3:18

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

“Complainers bring others down. Our words can uplift and encourage but even more importantly than that, our actions in truth will make the biggest difference of all.”

Proverbs 29:25

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in The Lord is kept safe.”

“I love her determination to be who she is and to not care what people think, but I completely understand her worry and fear.  My entire life, I often hid my true self from others as I was afraid of their criticism or rejection. I altered myself both in the clothes I chose to wear and the words I chose to speak. I wasn’t confident enough to be the true me. In fact, I believe that I spent so many years being someone else that I lost track of who I really am.”

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

“Christ is within you. He won’t necessarily take away your nerves. You will still be a little scared. But when you look for Him and find Him inside you, you will be able to draw on His strength which He provides for you. With Christ, you can do anything.”
